Our school nurses are essential members of our learning community—supporting the health, wellness, and academic success of every student.

Each day, they provide skilled, compassionate care to ensure students are safe, healthy, and ready to learn. From managing chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, and severe allergies, to responding to unexpected illness or injury, school nurses are trained to assess, treat, and support a wide range of health needs.

Our nurses:

• Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic or complex medical needs

• Safely administer and oversee prescribed medications during the school day

• Assess illnesses and injuries and provide immediate first aid and care

• Conduct vision, hearing, and other health screenings, with referrals when needed

• Monitor immunization compliance and maintain up-to-date student health records

• Prevent and control the spread of communicable diseases through education and guidance

• Support students’ mental health and emotional well-being

• Partner with families, healthcare providers, school staff, and community agencies to coordinate care

• Provide training and guidance to staff to ensure student health plans are followed safely

• Promote overall school wellness through education and health initiatives
