CHS sociology class trip

Concord High School sociology students recently spent a day learning about the challenges faced by individuals who are homeless.
Students in Laury Allen’s high school sociology class visited Church Community Services and Faith Mission on Sept. 26. While visiting, students were invited to learn about the food pantry and participate in a shopping experience similar to that of a typical client. Students also served two meals at Faith Mission.
“While at Church Community Services, my students learned about the working poor, the impoverished, and the services that Church Community Services provides,” Allen said. “At Faith Mission, my students served two meals; One to the residents, and the other to the homeless community.”
