school board

Concord Community Schools announces the vacancy on its school board created by the resignation of Kelly Barr. Ms. Barr served as a school board member since 2019, and her commitment to and diligent work on behalf of our students, staff and community is greatly appreciated.  Indiana law requires Concord Community Schools to promptly fill Ms. Barr’s remaining term on the school board, which runs through December 31, 2022.

State law requires the remaining school board members, by a majority vote, to fill the vacancy by appointing a person who resides in District 1 and meets all residence and other qualifications required of a regularly elected board member.

School board policy and Concord Community Schools’ election plan require that candidates for this seat on the Board of School Trustees possess the following qualifications:

  • A registered voter;

  • Twenty-one years of age or older; and

  • An Indiana resident for two (2) years and a resident within the school corporation boundaries and District 1 continuously for at least one (1) year; and

  • Must not be employed nor have a relative employed by Concord Community Schools, including descendants, parents, spouse or a spouse’s descendant.
